It has been a pleasure to have Josie Jones present to the Frankston High School student environmental group and middle school classes on several occasions.

Her knowledge of marine debris in the environment is extensive and she was easily able to maintain the interest of students. One of her greatest strengths was maintaining a positive outlook despite the negativity that can be associated with marine pollution in the environment. This helped students believe they could really make a difference.
Josie was engaging through her physical and digital displays always able to back up her knowledge with facts and data. Her relaxed style of presenting also meant that students were happy to ask questions and engage with the topic more intensely.

In taking on a new business earlier this year my sister and I had a strong vision for what we wanted to achieve.

We needed someone who would listen to us, test our thinking, help give it some shape and with us – bring it to life. Josie has been the perfect partner for us. Josie has listened (endlessly..) pushed us, questioned and never said – that can’t be done. She got our vision straight away and jumped in. Josie Jones was approached by our school to be a key note speaker and presenter of some sessions on the ‘Impact on waste, rubbish, plastics and how this affects our waterways and ecosystems’ for our annual ‘Design and Innovation Day’ Josie brought some great engaging ideas with her and also set up a photography competition for the participants to enter, and provided a prize for the winner. Josie has a wonderful rapport with people and quickly endeared herself to the students and staff with her enthusiasm, extensive local knowledge and solution focused outcomes. She has certainly made a difference to many peoples awareness and action around waste and its impact on the environment. Josie is a passionate advocate for educating the world on how we can all do better!

I have had the pleasure of working with Josie in a range of educational settings at Geelong Grammar School, Toorak Campus.

I was immediately intrigued and fascinated by the deep level of knowledge and understanding that Josie shared on the subject of marine life and her deep commitment to making her world a better place. This term, Josie addressed our whole school assembly, including many parents in the audience. Josie described the life cycles and fragility of the seahorse habitat around Port Phillip Bay which led the students to a greater wonder and understanding of their local marine environments. Josie also presented to our Year Six students who are inquiring into different local and global issues. In this presentation Josie explained the different ways to take action and communicate a message. Josie has the ability to provoke curiosity and questions, motivating others to take responsibility for improving our environment. She does this in an honest, yet balanced, nonjudgmental and gentle manner. As an experienced teacher myself, I can thoroughly and highly recommend Josie to any environment that is looking to inspire change or drive outcomes.
